The OG of #YogaandBeer

Bendy Brewski was a celebration of craft beer, local business, friendship and community building, always with mindful movement as the focus.  Our classes have always been for every person, every body. Every single class, every single person was welcomed with a vibe authentically open-hearted, intentional and fun!

For 13 years in Charleston, at 13 breweries and one distillery, Bendy Brewski showed up weekly, no matter the temperature or the turn-out. The students who came- some for years, week after week- were varied in age and experience.  SO MANY first-time yoga students- and a lot of men- built a mindfulness practice that extended well off the mat and into daily lives. The friendships, even marriages, that were conceived from the community we built and nurtured over the years is astounding to me to this day.

 

I am grateful for the local businesses that opened their doors and their hearts to us, (some of the best people i've ever known). Having classes amidst brewery noises, smells, and many times a floor evidenced of last night's business, only added to the positive experience and energy of a yoga company built on a brewery floor.  These were places I brought my young children to while I worked, places students practiced with their family.

After 13 wonderful and very full years, I decided to retire the elephant. It was time. I am still teaching and building wellness businesses and meeting my community where they are- at work, at home, online and on retreat.

I am dearly blessed and forever grateful.
