Bendy Brewski was a celebration of craft beer, local business, friendship, and community building—always with mindful movement at the center. Our classes have always been for every person, every body. Every single class, every single person, was welcomed with a vibe that was authentically open-hearted, intentional, and fun!
For 13 years in Charleston, at 13 breweries and one distillery, Bendy Brewski showed up weekly, no matter the temperature or the turnout. The students who came—some for years, week after week—varied in age and experience. So many first-time yoga students—and many men—built mindfulness practices that extended well beyond the mat and into daily life. The friendships, even marriages, born from the community we built and nurtured over the years are astounding to me to this day.
I am grateful for the local businesses that opened their doors and hearts to us (some of the best people I’ve ever known). Having classes amidst brewery sounds, smells, and often a floor bearing the marks of the previous night’s business only added to the positive experience and energy of a yoga company built on a brewery floor. These were places I brought my young children while I worked, places where students practiced with their families.
After 13 wonderful and full years, I decided it was time to retire the elephant. I am still teaching, building wellness businesses, and meeting my community where they are—at work, at home, online, and on retreat.
I am dearly blessed and forever grateful.
