New and established practitioners alike will find a welcome oasis in this beautiful space. Beth's tenure as a teacher of embodied movement and her education in related fields allow her to look, listen, and guide with a thoughtfulness that makes each session meaningful and resonant. If you've ever tried a yoga class and felt lost, inflexible, or missing that promised feeling of peace, Dwell is the place for you to find acceptance and respectful guidance. Dwell Somatic Studio is a place to find yourself and get into your body. Beth Cosi is a yoga teacher who has been around the block a time or three and has been a fixture of the Charleston yoga scene for years. This spot is her studio— a new venture for her. Don't expect a "yoga studio“— expect a specially curated space to practice yoga and clinical somatics with Beth Cosi. The space is small, so classes are always intimate. This is a one-of-a-kind experience!

From the moment I walk in, I can feel my whole nervous system start to settle down. The studio is so thoughtfully curated and calming. The somatic class was out of this world in a way that is hard to explain. It felt like my entire body just unlocked and let go. If you maintain a very active lifestyle and never take enough time to slow down, Dwell is the perfect space, and Beth's knowledge and personality make you feel truly cared for. It's a blessing to have the space in my neighborhood. This is truly the space I come to recharge and reset.

Presencing Practice
In a one-on-one setting, Beth can take the time to ensure that each and every moment is aligned specifically with your individual needs. She uses her trained eye and innate skillset to offer a deeply personalized experience to get you from where you are now to where you want to be. Individual sessions allow for adjustments, add-on techniques and the opportunity for the kind of support and guidance that will help you break through existing patterns. For maximum benefit, a series of solos is recommended.
Clinical Somatic
Learn the essential Clinical Somatic Exercises developed by Thomas Hannah to improve mobility and nervous system resiliency. This accessible practice can help to relieve pain and reawaken underutilized muscular patterns. Hips, shoulders and spine are the main focus, but the whole body benefits. Exercises are subtle but powerful and appropriate for every body and any experience level.
Yin Yoga
After an edited set of Clinical Somatic Exercises, Beth will choose a handful of Yin Yoga postures to round out the session. Yin Yoga uses supported seating and lying postures that work with gravity to target and release patterns of tension and holding.
Classes that create space in your body, mind, and heart.
Somatic Yoga: movement that supports mind–body connection in balance.
-
A meditation for movers practice. Long-held yoga poses from the floor that support meridians, joint health, and resiliency.
-
The work of Thomas Hannah that uses pandiculation technique to become aware of neuromuscular tension patterns, gentle and slow retrain—the let go— to release and ease, always followed by a resting state to support positive change.
-
The yoga of sleep. A practice of guided rest and immune system support.
